Served as LAN Manager for SUPSHIP Newport News' Norfolk facility. Maintained 4 NT servers, 25 workstations and all associated equipment. Built 1 MS-SQL 7.0 server and installed MS-IIS 4.0 on existing server. Developed Intranet site using HTML and perlscript.

  • Contracted to Fleet Technical Support Center, Atlantic (FTSCLANT) as a Network Administrator. Instrumental in their conversion from a Novell network to a Windows NT network. Developed and maintained their DNS, WINS, IIS, RRAS, VPN, Firewall and Internet Monitor services. Installed and maintained numerous other PDC, BDC, File/Print, Exchange and Backup servers. Administered remaining Novell Servers after conversion. Maintained various routers, switches, hubs and other hardware associated with a large network. Assisted in the installation of network topology (10/100BaseT, FIORL, FDDI) in several new facilities.

  • Served as IS Manager for EG&G's Norfolk facility. Performed all duties associated with maintaining, administering and managing a network consisting of 5 servers, 75 workstations, printers, hubs and routers.

  • Developed a corporate Intranet server utilizing advanced indexing and search features for use as a proposal development server.

  • Installed and configured a Linux server to retrieve archive data from backup tapes of an obsolete and unrepairable UNIX SCO system.

  • Converted data from Informix databases to MS-SQL database tables. Assisted in the development of an MS-Access application to access SQL database via ODBC.

  • Administered Commander Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet’s (COMSUBLANT) network. Installed and administered their Secure Mail System, Bastion Host firewall, CISCO 4000 routers and cc:Mail SMTP gateway.
